Hongkong Land is Asia’s premier real estate developer and investment group. They own and manage almost 800,000 sqm of prime office and luxury retail properties all across Asia. They are also developing residential properties in Greater China and Southeast Asia. Taft Properties is Metro Gaisano’s real estate company. The company is part of the Vicsal Development Corp., which is the known developer of the Metro Gaisano retail chain. Taft Properties share in the strength and stability of the Metro Gaisano retail chain which has built a formidable reputation in Luzon and Visayas for more than 30 years.

Hongkong Land Asia and Taft Properties joint project spans a 20-hectare prime land area. This mixed-use development project will feature high rise residential condominium, prime office spaces and luxurious commercial complexes. It is marked to be a prime attraction for Mandaue City, Cebu. This project is expected to jumpstart Mandaue City’s transformation into a dynamic lifestyle hub.

The group also committed to create an economically sustainable and environmentally friendly community that will create jobs and stimulate Cebu’s economy. The project will take 10 years to fully develop and will be done in eight phases. The first phase will involve the construction of two condominium towers with a total of 1,200 units. It will cover 1.1 hectare of the 20-hectare property. The entire development will have 25 towers with a total of 18,000 units. There will also be retail stores, office spaces, recreational facilities and marina components.

The project was announced last October 2015 with the two condominiums to be started this 2016. The sales office began construction in January 2016 and M&G Global Ads already started fabricating the needed signage for the sales office.

This is a big project for Metro Cebu and we can’t wait for it to be fully developed. The project will be in line with international standards and will be the first Hong Kong development in the Visayas region.

Once the plans were approved, we immediately went into the project. There was a tight deadline and we worked round the clock to finish their order. We made sure not to sacrifice quality for speed though and still created high quality signage.

As soon as the directional signs were finished, including the floor signage, our team flew to Cebu to begin installation. When we were finished fabricating their stainless signage and acrylic signage, we also brought the components to Cebu taking extra precaution that the travel doesn’t cause any damage to the materials. On-site, we assembled and installed the building signage.

The team was glad that everything was smooth sailing despite the deadlines and the challenges that was posed to us. It was a great opportunity for a Manila-based sign maker to be asked to create the signage for the first development of this scale in the Visayas area.
