Pylon posts are tall directional signages that serve as markers for certain locations. Greenfield Development Corporation was founded in 1971 and has been developing real estate for close to 50 years already. They are based in Mandaluyong but have developments in various locations such as Laguna. They are responsible for the development of the EDSA Crossing in the 1970s and the Paseo Commercial Center in 1998. They have also partnered with Ayala Land in 1999 to develop the Ayala Greenfield Estates. Further, they played an integral role in developing the Metro Rail Transit 3, the Eton-Greenfield, Southwoods, and the Cabuyao and Mamplasan exits on the South Luzon Expressway. Currently, Greenfield Development Corporation is also developing Twin Oaks Place, the first ever “smart” condominium in the country

Greenfield Development Corporation is led by Jeffrey Campos, the youngest son of Jose Yao Campos who established United Laboratories (Unilab), the Philippine’s largest pharmaceutical company. Jeffrey Campos attributes the company’s success to the values of his forefathers who have relentlessly and tenaciously pursued excellence through the peaks and troughs of the Philippine economy. In the past, the company have maintained a low profile and was content to play the silent partner to developments by Ayala Land and Century Properties. But recently, they have started actively pursuing real estate developments with a sustainable thrust.

Greenfield Development Corporation now operates as a subsidiary of Ayala Land, Inc. and is committed to developing sustainable and fully integrated cities within cities as evidenced by their latest developments in the Greenfield District in Mandaluyong and Sta. Rosa.

It is in their development in Sta. Rosa that M&G Global Ads, the prime sign maker in the Philippines, was commissioned to create a pylon post. Greenfield City in Sta. Rosa, Laguna is a 300-hectare commercial, residential and industrial park. It is one of the town’s largest mixed-use development project that is just 40 minutes away from Makati City. Greenfield City is envisioned to revitalize the economy of Sta. Rosa as the place start to attract multinational companies who can bring jobs to the locals and real estate investors seeking sustainable residential communities. Greenfield City Sta. Rosa is also where the highly successful Paseo de Sta. Rosa commercial complex is located. With the development of Greenfield City Sta. Rosa, the town has seen an influx of tourists and locals alike patronizing businesses in the area and contributing to the thriving Sta. Rosa local economy.

M&G Global Ads was asked to come up with a signage design that will reflect Greenfield’s commitment to sustainability and green living. Further, the outdoor signage we were asked to come up with will reflect the boom in the Sta. Rosa economy due to Greenfield’s developments. We decided to embody that characteristic by creating a stainless signage bearing the name of Greenfield City. The stainless signage would convey the professionalism and stability of the company while being sturdy enough to withstand the harsh weather conditions every outdoor signage is subjected to.

Besides that, we also made a pylon post that was several feet tall and created an acrylic signage bearing the letter “G” at the top. This will serve as a marker that passers-by even from afar will be able to view. At night, the acrylic signage lights in order to guide everyone to the location of Greenfield City Sta. Rosa.

Stainless signage are good for conveying a brand’s professionalism and stability. These signages, when seen even from afar immediately gives the impression of elegance, sturdiness and stability. Hence, for outlining the name of a company such as Greenfield, stainless signage is used.

Acrylic signage are good choices for being lit up. At night, you would still want people to find your business location or know that your brand or company exists. Acrylic signage are able to give your brand presence even at night. They can be lit up and they can possess the colors of your brand.

Signage design should always take into consideration the needs of the company or brand. You cannot simply make a signage just for the sake of having a signage.
