Light Box                 The Dune Group is one of the most influential global players when it comes to fashion footwear and accessories. Their stores carry their own fashion line as well as the designs of several famous shoe designer such as Steve Madden, Guess, Hugo Boss, Ted Baker and Paul Smith. They carry lines both for men and women. They are famous for being complete with shoes that can cater to all occasions – from the laid back afternoon stroll to the high powered corporate meeting all the way to the pumped up night party.

They are based in the fashion capital of the world – London. They have been around for over 20 years and have grown to be the brand they are today through their emphasis on product development and in-house design. Guided by the values of passion and dedication to excellence, they are committed to giving their customers outstanding service all the time.

But before Dune became a big global luxury brand, they started as a 20-square meter fashion store in Oxford St., London. From this humble store, they have grown to 46 outlets across the UK with 169 concessions in London’s major department stores. They also have more than 30 franchised stores in more than 12 major countries worldwide like Russia, UAE, France and Germany including cities like New York, South Africa and Mumbai.

Backlit                  One of the most recent countries they introduced their brand to is the Philippines. This is their first foray into Asia and what a better place to begin with than the Philippines where according to their blog is the home of shoe hoarder – Imelda Marcos. (That is how famous Imelda’s shoe obsession that Dune even recognizes her).

It was in 2012 when Dune opened their first outlet in the Philippines at Greenbelt 5. It was through a partnership with Store Specialists, Inc. that this British leader in affordable luxury footwear and accessories was able to penetrate the Philippine market. They opened with their Autumn-Winter Collection for 2013. Filipinos were treated to a visual feast of luxurious shoes that are of high-grade quality yet still affordable. Apart from the first store in Greenbelt 5, they also opened concessions in Shangri-La Plaza, Rustan’s Makati, Bonifacio High Street and Robinson’s Magnolia.

When this renowned international brand started opening stores in the country, one of their major requirements were acrylic signages which can capture the quiet and dignified elegance that the brand projects. Their store signages must clearly communicate what kind of shoes and fashion brand they are especially since they are located beside long-established competitors in the Philippines. The reputation of the Dune brand is at stake. A less than stellar signage can send mixed signals to customers about what to expect from the store.

Fortunately, M&G Global Ads was chosen as the sign maker to provide the signage needs of the Dune group. We studied the type of signage the stores would require and made the appropriate suggestions. We considered the brand and its qualities and what it hopes to convey to potential customers.
